Prayers

08.07.05

Continue to pray for my grandmother, and also pray for my dad. He has kidney stones–8 of them–and nothing can be done for it until Tuesday. We leave on Thursday to visit friends and family!

clothes swap party

08.04.05

This weekend, my husband and two of his guy friends went camping, so Andrea and I have spent a lot of time together. Friday night, Elaine came over and we watched Mean Girls, had a yummy vegan dinner, and talked over apple pie. Saturday I took care of some MK business, walked to the lake and read for grad school, went to the store, took a cold shower, and went to a clothes swap party (AKA Naked Lady Party because you’re trying on clothes all the time). Andrea and I took the bus to Capitol Hill, and I was carrying this huge suitcase full of clothes we had gathered. We went to Victrola coffee for some iced caffeinated beverages. When we got to my friend’s house, we piled our clothes in groups and started trying clothes on for about 2 hours. Anytime anyone new arrived, we turned our attention to the new pile. Andrea and I ended up with more than we brought, so we were thrilled. We left Erin’s apartment at about 9, walked to the Broadway bus stop that would take us home, and waited for about 10 minutes. The bus driver said that the route was a bit messed up because of the Torchlight Parade for Seafair. We caught a glimpse of the pirates, but only after our hearts jumped through our chests because of the cannons they fired. We got off of the bus on 5th Ave and crossed the parade between floats to get to 3rd ave, caught the necessary bus, and proceeded to stay on that bus for an hour because of traffic. Woohoo for free clothes!
