Cauliflower

10.17.05

What’s the point of cauliflower? I see it as the weak, bland, albino cousin of broccoli. It’s only good, in my opinion, when mixed with so many other veggies you can’t tell you’re eating it or when smothered with a cheese sauce. At least with broccoli, you can feel like you’re benefiting yourself by eating something green. Huh. Deep thoughts, I know.

But cauliflower isn’t just a lowly cousin….it and broccoli were both developed from the same wild cabbage progenitor (Brassica oleracea) as late as just 300 yrs ago. They’re technically still members of the same species, I believe.

But you’re right about the nutrition/taste :)

Amy, I made a quick- fry dish with califlower and artichokes and all seemed to enjoy…..esp. w/ the melted prov. cheese ontop….gg

Bethany says that you need to update your link of me to my blogger account. That way she has to do less work. :)
