Ah, Vacation

12.22.05

So far, I haven’t done much. I like to be productive, wake up early, and go to bed knowing that I’ve accomplished much.

However, vacations always tear me in two. Part of me says, “Hey! Sleep, eat, and veg out all you want to! you’ve earned it!!” The other, more responsible half of me says, “Hey! Now’s your chance to get caught up on all those things you haven’t made time for-get to it, lazybones!!”

I have gone for a walk and a jog, sorted through my advisory students’ files and made lists of the students not on track for graduation, graded 6th period’s notebooks, made copies of rubrics for senior papers, finished mailing Christmas cards, read several chapters of my book talk book, and read a chapter from our grad school book, but there is so much more to be done!

What are you guys’ thoughts about time off?

I think time off is infact time off! You shouldn’t be running and grading papers and stuff, its Christmas!! Have fun, drink eggnog and pineapple cokes, gingerbread shakes, pecan cookies. Live it up, you only get christmas once a year…..
See you soon.

Well, I can guarantee you that next week I will be planning and grading. It’s a good time to get caught up and get ahead. Just make sure you do have some you time. The past two days I haven’t done anything.

I think allowing yourself to do some work while on vacation keeps type-A folks from going crazy (not that I know any type-As). However, some portion of your days (or some portion of every day) should be set aside for strictly vacation activities. No guilt allowed.

merry christmas………see you Mon.@ the airport……….love PAPA
