So Tired on a Saturday

07.08.06

Saturdays should not be a “tired” day, but for a variety of reasons, I am.

So far today has been a bit lonely (it’s 12p.m. and I’m the only one up), but solitude sometimes has its perks.

I usually complete tasks that are of importance when I am alone. So far, I made some oatmeal with strawberries, along with a glass of orange juice, and read a short story by Gustave Flaubert (”A Simple Heart”) and reread “The Necklace, by Guy de Maupassant. I’m on a short story kick, as I read “Bernice Gets a Bob” Wednesday night.

I also chatted with a friend, checked the mail, read my friends’ blogs, and wrote to our sponsored child. I don’t know what my day holds next–probably some cleaning and exercising, perhaps some cooking–but I want to make today worthwhile. I enjoy the “seize the day” mentality that I have. Off I go! More news later…sometimes it is overwhelming to write about all that I am thinking about, and all that I am doing.

HAIRCUT!!!

07.03.06

I wrote this really cool post about my birthday (which was great, by the way). However, the internet wasn’t working this morning and I tried to post it, but when I pushed the back button, I lost it all. Grr. Anyway, here are some pics of me and my new haircut (thanks, Joy!) at the beach. I was working on my tan and my confidence in a 2-piece bathing suit. More details later! The Ogles are here (they moved into their apartment this morning) and we’re going to play some board games.Amy Front View
